How Much Does Drone Fleet Management Software Cost? (2026 Pricing Guide)

How much does drone fleet software cost in 2026? Solo operators pay anything from nothing to about £20, $15 or €15 a month for operations and flight logging tools, while small teams typically pay between about $7 and A$60 per extra pilot per month (or from €195 per drone per year on per-drone plans). Enterprise pricing for 40 or more pilots is often quote only, and realistic budgets at that size run from a few thousand to well into five figures a year.

Those figures come from each vendor's own pricing page, checked on 25 September 2026. Below: how the pricing models work, a side-by-side table, the costs that never make it onto a pricing page, and three worked budgets you can adapt.

At a Glance
  • Solo: free to about £20/$15/€15 a month
  • Small teams: about $7 to A$60 per pilot a month
  • Enterprise: often quote only

The Five Pricing Models, and How Each One Scales

Sticker price matters less than the pricing model. Two tools that cost the same for three pilots can be thousands apart at thirty.

Per pilot (or per user)

You pay for every person who logs in. Easy to forecast, but cost grows in a straight line with headcount. At €30 per user per month, 3 pilots cost €90 a month and 50 pilots cost €1,500.

Per drone

You pay for each aircraft, however many people fly it. Good for teams sharing a small pool of drones between lots of occasional pilots. Bad for small teams with a big fleet of spares and specialist airframes.

Per seat (named licence)

Common with mapping platforms. One licence gets one account with a processing allowance, so you only buy seats for the people who process data.

Flat tiers

A fixed price for a bundle of limits (users, flights, jobs, storage). Great value until you hit a ceiling, then you jump a tier. Check where the ceilings sit against your 18-month plans, not today's headcount.

Quote only

No published price. You'll need a sales call, and usually an annual contract.

A Word on "Call Us" Pricing

Three of the eight vendors publish no team price.

Aloft is free for individuals, but any organisation has to call sales for a number, and Dronecloud publishes tiers without prices. Airdata's Enterprise plan is the same, although it's one of the worst-kept secrets in the industry: reseller Maverick Drone lists it at $240 per drone per year ($20 a month) for fleets under 20 drones, with volume discounts above that, and operators we've spoken to report the same figure.

Quote-only pricing isn't automatically bad. It can reflect genuinely custom deployments. But it makes budgeting harder, puts smaller buyers at a negotiating disadvantage, and means two customers can pay very different amounts for the same thing.

Before the Demo

If a vendor won't give you a number before a demo, ask for a written ballpark and the renewal terms up front.

The Costs That Don't Show Up on the Pricing Page

The monthly fee is rarely the whole bill. These are the lines that catch teams out.

Iceberg infographic of drone software costs: the monthly subscription above the waterline, with onboarding, extra seats, SORA and other add-ons, storage limits, integrations, annual lock-in and exit costs hidden below

Onboarding and training

Often only on higher tiers. AirHub lists team training, a personal account manager and single sign-on on Enterprise only. FlyFreely includes assisted onboarding from its Teams plan. On lower tiers you set things up yourself, which costs staff time instead of cash.

Extra seats

Per-user plans look cheap for the first pilot. Price your 18-month headcount, including office staff who need logins. Some vendors are kinder here: FlyFreely doesn't charge for admin users or for pilots you've archived after they leave.

Add-ons

Airdata lists live streaming as an optional Enterprise add-on. Dronedesk's SORA add-on for Specific category and BVLOS risk assessments starts from £67 a month, and annual billing gives two months free. If BVLOS is on your roadmap, check whether SORA tooling is included or extra with every vendor on your shortlist.

Storage and data limits

Airdata's paid tiers cap active flights, archive anything over quota, and charge $15 to restore archived flights (waived if you upgrade to annual). Drone Logbook, by contrast, advertises no data or storage limits on any plan. DroneControl includes 200 GB of media storage per organisation, then charges from €94.95 a year per extra 200 GB.

Integrations

DJI sync, accounting tools, cloud storage and construction platforms may sit behind higher tiers or need an API plan. Ask which integrations are on your tier, not which exist.

Annual versus monthly

Annual is almost always cheaper. Airdata gives a free month on yearly plans, FlyFreely's annual price is ten times the monthly one, and Drone Logbook takes 10% off quarterly and 20% off annual billing. The trade-off is being locked in for the year.

Leaving

Drone Logbook's terms make all fees non-refundable with no prorated refunds, so a prepaid annual plan is spent even if you switch mid-year. FlyFreely drops you back to its free plan with your data still accessible. A flight log archive you can't get out is a real switching cost.

Three Worked Examples: Estimated Annual Cost

Assumptions: published list prices, annual billing where offered, no negotiated or volume discounts, tax excluded. Figures stay in each vendor's own currency, so compare within a table rather than converting in your head.

Solo operator

1 pilot, 2 drones
OptionEstimated annual costWorth knowing
Aloft (individual)$0Free for individuals, built around US airspace
Drone Logbook ProfessionalAbout $67$6.95 × 12, less 20% for annual. Logging and compliance, no mission planning
Dronedesk STARTUP£95Capped at 3 jobs a month, suits part-timers
Airdata HD 360 ProAbout $16511 paid months on annual. Flight data and maintenance, not jobs or clients
AirHub Professional€180€15 × 12. No annual discount published
Dronedesk PRO£195Unlimited jobs, annual billing
DroneControl Base€390€195 × 2 drones
FlyFreely BusinessA$450Annual price for one pilot

For most solo operators the real choice is between a free tool plus spreadsheets and a low-cost paid plan that removes the admin.

Survey firm

8 pilots, 12 drones
OptionEstimated annual costWorth knowing
Dronedesk PRO£825£195 for the first user plus 7 × £90
Drone Logbook Pro+About $9958 × $12.95 × 12, less 20% for annual, before multi-seat discounts
DroneControl Base€2,34012 × €195, before multi-drone discounts
AirHub Business€2,880€30 × 8 × 12, via sales
Airdata EnterpriseAbout $2,88012 × $240 at Maverick Drone's reseller rate
FlyFreely BusinessA$3,6008 × A$450. Teams would be A$4,800 before volume discounts
DronecloudQuote only

At this size, check which tier you actually need rather than comparing entry prices. Drone Logbook's mission planning and customer management start on Pro+, for example, and AirHub's Business tier is sold through its sales team. Add SORA tooling if you're moving into BVLOS work.

Enterprise

40 pilots, 55 drones
OptionEstimated annual costWorth knowing
Dronedesk PRO£3,705£195 plus 39 × £90. UNLIMITED (£7,599) only pays off above about 75 users
Drone Logbook EnterpriseAbout $7,66040 × $19.95 × 12, less 20% for annual, before multi-seat discounts
Airdata EnterpriseAbout $9,90055 × $180 (50 to 99 drone band) at Maverick Drone's reseller rate
DroneControl Base€10,72555 × €195 before discounts. Pro would be €92,400
AirHub Business€14,400 at listSSO, on-premise and account management need Enterprise (quote only)
FlyFreely TeamsA$24,000 at list40 × A$600. Volume discounts apply, Enterprise is quote only
Aloft, DronecloudQuote onlyExpect annual contracts

At this size the pricing model matters more than the headline rate. The spread above is several-fold for broadly similar jobs, driven by whether you pay per pilot, per drone or per tier. Add a line for onboarding, SSO and the internal time a procurement and IT security review takes.

How to Set Your Budget This Week

Five steps to a number you can defend.

1

Count three numbers

Pilots, drones, and non-flying staff who need a login.

2

Decide the job

Operations and compliance, flight logs and maintenance, live operations, or a mix. That tells you which rows of the table to compare.

3

Price your 18-month headcount

Not today's. Tier ceilings and per-seat costs bite as you grow.

4

Ask every vendor the same questions

What's included on this tier, what's an add-on, what are the storage limits, what happens at renewal, and how do I export everything if I leave?

5

Trial with real jobs

A week of real planning and logging tells you more than any demo.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about drone software pricing

Yes, with limits. Airdata's HD Free plan is for non-commercial use only. AirHub's Basic plan is free, Drone Logbook's Standard plan is free for up to 3 users, FlyFreely has a free single-pilot plan aimed at recreational and training flying, and Aloft is free for individual pilots. None of these free options is designed for a commercial team.

It depends on your ratio. With more drones than pilots, per-pilot pricing usually wins. With lots of pilots sharing a few aircraft, per-drone pricing usually wins. Work out both before you sign.

Not always. Drone Logbook offers monthly, quarterly or annual billing (though its fees are non-refundable), Airdata's paid tiers are monthly with a free month on annual, and FlyFreely lets you cancel any time and revert to its free plan. Quote-only enterprise plans are usually annual, so check the cancellation, renewal and data export terms first.

Mostly administration and security rather than flying features: single sign-on, roles and permissions, custom billing or invoicing, dedicated account management, team training, API access and, with some vendors, on-premise hosting.

Annual billing typically saves the equivalent of one or two months. If you're not sure the tool fits, pay monthly for the first quarter, then switch once it's proved itself.

Less Admin, More Flying

You got into drones to fly and deliver great work for clients, not to drown in paperwork and compliance admin. If an operations platform is on your shortlist, try Dronedesk free for   days with your own jobs and see whether it earns its place in your budget.
