What these figures show

  • Salaries are taken from job adverts currently live on Adzuna that match each role's search terms, as of the refresh date above. They reflect advertised pay, not a survey of what people earn.
  • Low, average, median and high are calculated from Adzuna's salary histogram, the distribution of advertised salaries across those live ads.
  • "Ads sampled" counts adverts that carry a usable salary. Each role combines several job titles (drone / UAV / UAS / FPV pilot and so on), so an advert matching more than one is counted more than once. Read it as a volume indicator, not a unique count.
  • The trend is a monthly snapshot: each month we record that month's figures, so the lines build up over time rather than looking back over historic postings.
  • UK and US are shown in their own currency and are not directly comparable. Niche roles with few ads are flagged low and should be read with caution.

About the data

Adzuna is one of the largest job aggregators, pulling adverts from thousands of sources across 16+ countries into a single, normalised dataset, so these figures reflect a broad slice of the live market rather than any one job board.

Adzuna's advertised-salary data is trusted at national level: the UK Office for National Statistics uses Adzuna's online job-advert data in its labour-market indicators, and Adzuna has powered job-search services for the UK government.

Because the numbers come from real, current adverts rather than self-reported surveys, they track the market as it actually is and refresh as hiring changes. Explore the underlying listings at adzuna.co.uk.

Note on the "View jobs" links: these open our own drone jobs board, which is a separately curated, de-duplicated feed of live vacancies. The number of roles it lists won't match the "ads sampled" figures here, those count every salaried advert across the wider market (with a job counted once per matching title), not the filtered set we feature.
